2013 CENSUS PROJECT
One of Build a Better Tomorrow Outreach Program was to assist a small community in the Caribbean island of Haiti . With the help of the Catholic priest in charge of the area along with boy and girl scout volunteers, we were able to go door to door to conduct interviews with families and complete a census.
As you know it is a great importance to know the birth and death rate of a community, number of literacy and illiteracy, number of people across the areas, mother and children mortality rate. It was the first time in recent years that such a population count was conducted in the area. We are very proud of the accomplishments of all our volunteers.

It provides the most basic primary healthcare services such as childhood immunization, child birth, family planning, wound dressing, hypertension, diabetes and management of common ailments such as respiratory infections, diarrhea, simple malaria, etc. More complicated cases are referred to neighboring cities with more equipped facilities or hospitals.
